Renowned organist, pianist and collaborative musician Alex Leonardi seeks to spark a new kind of music making in classical music by diversifying the expression of music through unique concerts and innovative collaborative opportunities that reshape the way audiences experience music.

Alex is a current student in the MM Program at The Juilliard School, studying with Paul Jacobs. They recently graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music, where they studied with Alan Morrison, Matthew Glandorf and Jeffery Brillhart, and was a graduate of The Juilliard School’s Pre-College Division, where they studied with Dr. Matthew Lewis. They also have studied harpsichord and continuo playing with Leon Schelhase during their time at Curtis.

Alex has participated in several competitions, including the 2023 RCYO Quimby Competition for the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Regions, where they won first prize, and the 2021 George Mathison Organ Competition for the Brooklyn AGO, where they won second prize. They were also selected as a semifinalist for the 2024 AGO National Competition in Organ Improvisation. They have participated in numerous other programs outside their usual schooling, including the Organ and Piano Institutes at Westminster Choir College and the Philadelphia-Macy’s Organ Camp. They serve as Organ Scholar at Trinity Church on Wall Street, and previously served as Assistant Organist at the Church of the Redeemer in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

Outside of music, they are fond of writing short story and fiction, enjoys the outdoors, and on occasion practices martial arts.

Alex is a proud recipient of a Kovner Fellowship at The Juilliard School.
